Damage Furniture and won't compensate their damage

I hired them to move a bedroom set consisting of the dresser with mirror, 2 night stands, a bed with headboard and footboard and a chest of drawers. $330. That's not a small amount of money for a relatively small job but get it...small job, same size truck.

Well, they damaged the chest of drawers, required a quote that I had to pay for and now refuse to pay for the quoted damage ($725). They are "gifting" me with a refund of my moving money. It won't fix the damage...that they had to have known about and didn't report before they left.

Buyer beware. Bigger issue....buyer be sure you know what kind of people you are dealing with. These guys aren't good people.

Dishonest and unreliable!

I don't think I could have gone with a WORSE business. I made the mistake of using this company because they were offering a groupon. My purpose in hiring a moving company was to transport a kitchen full of cupboards and two rather large granite island tops from the home of someone who was remodeling, to ours, about an hour away. I was assured at the time of scheduling that the granite would pose no problem at all. I also stressed the importance of them arriving on time, since we only had a small window in which the owner of the home would be able to meet us. We even went as far as to call two times the morning of, to make sure they were still running on time! Well the time of the appointment came and went and the skinny wimps were nowhere to be found, and they conveniently stopped answering their phone! The owner of the home was kind enough to let us stay, even though she had to leave. almost two hours later they finally answered the phone, only to inform us it would still be a few more hours before they could be there. To make a long story short, they did eventually arrive, 7 HOURS LATE! As if that wasn't bad enough, they took one look at the granite and said "we aren't moving that", and then proceeded to load all the cabinets in the dark since the sun had long since set and there was no power to the house as it was being remodeled. Once finished loading the cabinets, they went to close up the truck, only to find their lift battery was dead! The owner actually had the gall to ask my wife to hook up her hybrid to the truck to try to power the lift on the back! Again, in an effort to shorten the story, it was almost 10 PM at this point and the kids where beyond tired. We left, assuming they would figure something out and deliver the cabinets the next morning as promised. We found out later that they simply drove the truck from Draper west valley with the back open and our cabinets stacked up to the very back! The cabinets were eventually delivered WELL past the time promised and we discovered that no moving blankets were used to protect them, many were scratched badly (remember they were all stacked in there in the dark and after a very long day), and a few drawers were broken entirely. We are missing an entire cabinet! For all we know it fell out during the drive the night before! After we thought the ordeal was finished, we found out later that Lisa, the owner of the business, charged us for the time she was stuck at the house with a broke down truck (how was that our fault). I tried calling the skinny wimp corporate office to complain and start an insurance claim for the damaged cabinets and was promptly told that Lisa owned the franchise and could do what she wants. She has not answered, or returned a single call since that second day, and I can't even get a claim started! This has been the worst experience I can imagine! Our once beautiful cabinets are now scratched and damaged and we have absolutely no recourse other than to take her to court! Do yourself a favor and go with another company. ANY other company! Even the corporate office couldn't be bothered to help! College Hunks ended up moving the granite for us no problem! I wish we had gone with them from the start!

Great Experience.

My wife and I used Skinny Wimp Moving to go from a 5 bedroom house In Chandler to a 5 bedroom in Scottsdale and couldn't be happier. The guys made sure we had everything we could possibly ask for. All the guys seemed to be experts at what they were doing and literally ran back to the house from the truck in between carrying things all day. Would recommend to anyone.

Buyer Beware - Out of State Company!

This is a California company with no physical locations in Florida. Jackson and Vashaud showed up late and unprepared. I caught them numerous times standing around on their cell phones down by their truck. They did not bring the necessary equipment and claimed they had no record of the request.

The broke my 60" plasma TV by dropping it. Neither mover would take responsibility for dropping it and said that it must have shifted in the truck which was a lie. Taylor Shade the area manager came to my house after I demanded they stop the move before anything else was damaged. When Taylor
arrived, he took one look at the TV and said, "Yeah, they obviously dropped it." They also scratched numerous pieces of furniture because of not properly wrapping them in blankets prior to moving.

They took ten hours to move a one bedroom apartment from Harbour Island to Channelside. This simple move should have taken three hours at most if the movers had come prepared and worked the whole time. When Taylor Shade the manager saw the total amount moved he said, "How did this move take ten hours?"

Lance T Clauson the owner of the company refused to compensate me for any of the damage and lied in his response to my complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau. This is obviously not a company operating in good faith and certainly not a company I would trust.

Terrible customer service.

We needed flexibility in re-scheduling our move and called every two weeks to secure our deposit. The last time, there was no confirmation call and the movers showed up. We were billed the full amount of the move. I called to reschedule and they wanted TO CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT. I was put on hold before the 24 hour period ended, then told that this was the policy after keeping me on hold past the time where the deposit would be scheduled. Really frustrating and aggravating. I was made to feel like I had done something wrong. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt after hearing bad things about their timelines and care. Neve make that mistake again. I think Yelp has paid reviews. No one could be happy with this place.

Skinny Wimp is The Worst! Please Read This Before You Hire Them.

I hired Skinny Wimp to help me move into a new home in Ventura County, CA. I paid for one truck and a crew of three workers. They were supposed to show up at 1000 am on a Saturday. They were not able to show up on time because their truck broke down. When I spoke with their office, they could not tell me with any certainty when someone would show up. Over the next couple hours, I sat around waiting for them. By 130 pm, I was fed up and demanded to know when they would arrive. I was given a guarantee that they would be at my home at 230 pm. They did not make it. They finally showed up at 300 pm, fIVE hours later than they were supposed to be there. Because they showed up so late in the day, we were not able to complete the move. They had to come back the next day, which was a Sunday and happened to be my daughter’s 16th birthday.
I expected them to show up first thing on Sunday so that we could complete the move and I could spend time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. This did not happen. Once again, I sat around waiting for hours until they finally showed up around 245 pm. Even though I had paid for a crew of three, only two guys showed up.
Needless to say, I was very frustrated and angry about this experience. I was told by the office on Sunday that the manager would call me first thing on Monday to address my concerns. I waited all day on Monday and never got a call. So, I called the office again on Tuesday and spoke with a supervisor. He was cooperative and apologized, but when I demanded to speak with his boss, I was told that he was out of the state and too busy to speak with me.
The supervisor asked what they could do to make me happy. I told them that I felt I deserved a discount for the way I had been treated. They offered me a measly $50, after I had paid them about $1,200, for which I received terrible service. I will NEVER, EVER USE SKINNNY WIMP AGAIN. The management at this company is horrible. They could care less about customers. The guys who actually came out and helped me move were great. I was going to list their names here to give them credit but I do not want their names to be mistakenly associated with the terrible work done by management. The movers were friendly and did a great job. I would hire them again in a second.
But, as I said, I will never use Skinny Wimp ever again and I cannot recommend them to anyone who is thinking of moving and needs to hire a mover. BECAUSE OF THEIR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I SPENT A TOTAL OF 10 HOURS SITTING AROUND WAITING TO MOVE, AND WORST OF ALL, I MISSED BY DAUGHTER’S 16TH BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Book at your own risk.

I booked a time with these movers after finding a Groupon. I had a very small one bedroom apartment's worth of furniture to mover just a couple of blocks down the street; a move that, at best, should take no longer than 2 hours. On moving day, the movers showed up 2 hours late. I was called 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival time to confirm the movers were headed my way, but they did not arrive for 2.5 hours later (2 hours after my scheduled time was to begin). No one told me they would be late and no one could be reached at the general office until 1 hour after the movers were supposed to arrive. I was left for an hour thinking I possibly booked a service that was a scam and no drivers were coming, though this did not turn out to be the case. I eventually reached the office manager who told me that sometimes these things just happen and nothing can be done to remedy the situation. If considering these movers, please just keep in mine, this service was not worth the cost. Partially because the movers were late; partially because when I called the office to address my complaint on this, I received little concern; also partially because I booked this service seeing it cost the same rate as or slightly more expensive than other moving services (I booked it thinking I would be getting better movers). Instead I received sub-par customer service and late movers.

Caused $15,000-$20,000 Damage to Home!! Refused to Give Insurance Info.

Found a cheap groupon for moving services & bought. The movers showed up 5 hours late (at 5PM!) and started moving. I was moving everything into storage unit for a couple weeks. Apparently Cameron (the owner) did not turn off water to washer. While detaching the washer, they flooded the entire house. All of the floors in the home are ruined and my furniture and belongings soaked! Cameron told me to go to Home Depot and buy a blower to dry the floors! I asked him several times for his insurance information, as we needed to get someone professional help for the water damage. He would not give me the information. The wood flooring started to buckle and bubble by next morning. The carpet in the bedrooms were soaked as well. We spent 2.5 hours trying to clean up the water! And, of course the storage unit was now closed. They had to hold my belongings in the truck overnight & delivered to the storage facility in the morning. After delivering my belongings to the storage unit, Cameron (the owner) had the audacity to tell me that I owed him an extra $125 for the hour that they had to come back in the am and deliver my belongings!! I told him that I should not have to pay anything because we spent 2.5 hours trying to minimize the damage from the flood that he caused. Cameron continued to call and text me at least 20 times for my credit card information. He refused to provide any insurance information until I paid the $125. So, I paid it! HE STILL HAS NOT GIVEN ME HIS INSURANCE INFORMATION!! We are talking $15,000-$20,000 damage to home! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Skinny Wimp Moving Company Damaged Goods.

I am writing this review for my 83 year old mother-in-law. This is a terrible moving company. My mother-in-law had damages to her personal property, an expensive Hi-Wheel line trimmer went missing and appears to have been stolen, and the movers moved her in two days, not one day as per the moving contract.

My mother-in-law hired Skinny Wimp Movers of 6090 Crater Lake Ave/Central Point, Medford, Oregon on Apr. 16, 2018 for her moving job on April 28, 2018 from Grants Pass Oregon to White City Oregon. The moving company provided a two-man crew, plus one that stayed about three hours.

Skinny Wimp Movers did not complete the move in one day as contracted. The movers did not have a big enough truck to move all of her belongings in one trip per her contract, her one day moving trip turned into a two day moving trip. She was supposed to be out of the house that day, because of this she had to arrange to stay a day longer at the old house with the home owners because of Skinny Wimp Movers schedule. The movers showed up the next day to complete the move.

Skinny Wimp Movers supplied no wardrobe boxes. They sent a man to the U Haul Dealer and purchased three boxes, which was insufficient. She had to ask her neighbors to help move the rest of her clothing to the new house using garbage bags.

Skinny Wimp Movers used her dining room table as a work station without her permission, and without using any protective cover. They scratched her wooden dining room table in the process.

My mother-in-law specifically asked that three pieces of equipment be left at her original home, they were being given to the new owners by her as part of the home sale. The movers put one of the three pieces of equipment, her expensive professional style Hi-Wheel line trimmer worth $400 or more, in the moving van and it was driven to her new home in White City, Oregon. She advised the crew that the line trimmer needed to be returned to her original home on April 29, the second day of the one day move.

The Hi-Wheel line trimmer was not delivered back to her original home and she has not seen it since. She believes this item was stolen from her in the process of the move.

My mother-in-law sent two letters on May 16 and May 20 2018 to the moving company seeking recompense for damages to her belongings, payment for the missing line trimmer, and poor service, and as of yet she has not received a reply. She sent additional letters and still has not received a reply.

She would not recommend this moving company due to their lack of organization and poor service.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to Rock Hill, SC

Don't EVER Use Them!!

If I could give zero stars I would. We moved from AZ to SC. We wrapped & boxed all our stuff except Master BR furniture, formal DR, formal LRM. Everything WE boxed made it. I had a conversation with the young man about a small antique table that was a favorite of mine and asked him to wrap it well and take special care. I watched him walk out of the house with it.That table never arrived and they denied they had it. They had no one else's furniture on the truck. They never covered my DR table (I have photos of all damaged furniture) and it needed repair to the tune of $900 (just for the table). They didn't know how to wrap the grandfather clock. My husband provided thin laminate to put on top of the blanketed glass but they never covered the top which was damaged. The intricate feet on my curio cabinet were never covered and got damaged. I had the furniture repair person fix all the damages. I won't go on but there was more damaged. It still makes me sick. I tried to speak with the owner Lance Clausen to no avail. He lives in CA.I don't think he was even told by the Phoenix office that I wanted to speak with him personally. But their mission of "honesty , integrity, and vigilantly protecting customer's belongings" is a LIE.
Even though I had a bill for the repairs totalling over $1k, they would only pay $363.
Just DON'T EVER USE THEM!!
Skinny Wimp does not number and list each item. I think by not numbering and listing everything, Skinny Wimp can get away with denying something was on their truck, like my antique table.

DON'T USE SKINNY WIMP!
